Sports Leaders
Our Sports Leaders course will give our students the opportunity to develop many skills which will be of use to them both in a sporting environment and life in general.
We do not just focus solely on their sporting ability. The course helps develop many leadership skills such as being able to organise others, and communication with groups and individuals in a sporting setting. Students look at the importance of safety within any environment and their final assessment is to organise an event for the whole of Year 2 from our partnership schools (c. 150-200 children).
Throughout the year, students will have an opportunity to participate in all sorts of sporting events, leading and assisting many different years. We have inter-house events for Years 7-13 in sports such as netball, football, hockey and basketball. There are also primary school events for Years 1-6. Events in the past have included Year 1 dance, Year 3 teambuilding, Year 4 dance, Year 5/6 indoor athletics, Hi 5 netball, hockey and Quad kids outdoor athletics, to name but a few.
Sports Leaders are an integral part of The Henry Box School and the PE Department. Many of these events would not be possible without the leadership from our Sports Leaders.
